Autism is a neurological disorder. It affects the way the brain processes information and the way an individual sees the world (which can impact their responses and behaviour). Autism affects at least 700,000 individuals in the UK.
This course will take participants on a step-by-step journey through what it means to have autism and how that can impact communication, social interaction, imagination and behaviour.
By understanding what it means to the individual, the course then takes participants through strategies and techniques that are invaluable in working with and supporting those with an autism diagnosis.
The course will also provide participants with an invaluable set of resources including podcasts, additional courses for those that want to take their learnings further, reading materials and links to accredited autism organisations.
