Digital Communication

Overview 

This course will provide learners with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to effectively manage digital communications. We will focus on how to create engaging content through effective storytelling, which is aligned to the audience, both internal and external. Learners will look at the “mechanics” of social media management, practical skills and techniques, along with brand guidelines and corporate tone and responsibility. 

Learning objectives
  • Develop an understanding of the WHY – what will compel the audience to engage with the changes, updates and ideas you are communicating? 
  • Explore the fundamentals of style and tone, and the importance of language and grammar across all communications 
  • Demystify social media management and digital communications with a clear guide of ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ 
  • Understand copyright and how to incorporate images, videos and other media 
Delivery method 

Can be delivered face to face, online or blended either in person or virtually e.g.  Teams/Zoom. Learners will have access to our learning platform where they can refer to the materials, watch extra resources such as videos and interactive activities and access links to organisations, for those that want to take their learning further. 

A full day is recommended for staff with little or no previous experience. For those with prior knowledge, a half day is recommended as a condensed session with post course materials. 

Workshops combine presentation slides, interactive exercises, individual reflection and group discussion.
