Techniques for Tough Times

Overview 

Life can be challenging at times, and everyone can experience difficult periods that test their resilience. The Techniques for Tough Times course aims to equip participants with effective coping mechanisms to navigate through challenging situations. This course will explore various techniques to manage stress, anxiety, and depression, and improve overall wellbeing. 

Learning objectives
  • Identify personal strengths and resources to manage tough times 
  • Understand mindfulness and relaxation techniques for stress management 
  • Apply cognitive behavioural strategies to reframe negative thinking patterns 
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to overcome challenges 
  • Understand the importance of social support and building resilience 
  • Set goals and adopt positive thinking to promote overall wellbeing 
Delivery method 

Can be delivered face to face, online or blended either in person or virtually e.g.  Teams/Zoom. Learners will have access to our learning platform where they can refer to the materials, watch extra resources such as videos and interactive activities and access links to organisations, for those that want to take their learning further. 

A full day is recommended for staff with little or no previous experience. For those with prior knowledge, a half day is recommended as a condensed session with post course materials. 

Workshops combine presentation slides, interactive exercises, individual reflection and group discussion.
