Mental Health First Response™

Gain the knowledge and tools to support individuals facing various mental health challenges. In this course, you’ll explore the different conditions people may experience and learn practical ways to assist both others and yourself. By reducing stigma and promoting a healthier culture, we can all work towards better mental wellbeing. Upon completing the course, you’ll be certified as a Mental Health First Responder.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain an understanding of mental health, wellbeing and common mental health conditions in today’s world
  • Learn to identify mental health emergencies and provide effective guidance to the appropriate support services.
  • Understand key risk factors, such as isolation and stress, and their impact on mental health.
  • Develop strong listening skills and build confidence in encouraging open conversations about mental health, wellbeing, and self-care strategies for yourself and others.
 

Building resilience is at the heart of all our courses. Alongside essential mental health education, you’ll receive a comprehensive toolkit of self-care practices and evidence-based strategies to support your own mental health and the wellbeing of others.

Time-effective Training

Upon successful completion of a brief knowledge assessment, learners will be awarded a CPD accredited certificate, valid for 3 years. Additionally, all participants will receive 1 year of access to our online learning platform and app, offering continued access to course materials and opportunities for further learning.

Training Adapted to your Workplace

We can tailor our materials to suit teams and organisations by incorporating relatable scenarios and case studies. For example, we’ve developed specific ‘add-on’ modules for sectors including hospitality, children and young people, and the construction industry. We can also brand course materials and the course space to organisational style guidelines.

It has been developed by our expert mental health team, which includes professionals from the NHS, academia, and research – many are qualified psychologists or counsellors. As a digital company, we embrace technology-enhanced learning. You can engage at your own time and pace through a blend of interactive modules, live sessions, and practical activities. Each module includes real-world examples and case studies, ensuring a strong connection between theory and everyday practice.

Ongoing Support

This course offers practical, real-world strategies and equips you with a toolkit to implement in the workplace. At the core is an emphasis on building resilience for the future. You’ll receive ongoing support through the digital platform for supporting yourself and others.

Delivery

Our courses can be delivered face-to-face, online, or in a blended format, using platforms like Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Learners will have access to our learning platform, where they can review materials, watch additional resources such as videos, engage in interactive activities, and find links to relevant organisations for those looking to deepen their understanding.

Our workshops incorporate presentation slides, interactive exercises, individual reflection, and group discussions.

This course is around 6 hours of learning. It can be delivered over one day or broken up into bitesized learning depending on the needs of your learners.

All materials are provided through an easy to use online platform that can be accessed for a year after the training ends, as a useful source ffor learners to refer back to.
